1. Travelling from Bangkok to Koh Samui is relatively easy when you know the best and cheapest way to travel there. Besides the more expensive method of flying direct, you can head to Koh Samui via Surat Thani Airport. There are several daily flights from Bangkok to Surat Thani International Airport that travelers can choose from. Once arrived in Surat Thani Airport travelers can just purchase a ticket at the counter or via online for the airport shuttle bus and ferry ticket at the Phantip Travel counter.
2. The journey from Surat Thani Airport to Donsak Pier will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes by bus. You will get to sit one one of the several buses Phantip Travel offer at the airport. Buses will send passengers to all the ferry and speedboat companies so make sure you board the right one. There are four speedboats and ferry companies in Donsak Pier, so if you are not sure kindly as one of the several staff members they have at the airport. Staff members will assist you while boarding to avoid any confusion, just make sure you show them your tickets before boarding. Along the way to the pier you can either enjoy the sights of the local ambiance or just sit back and relax.
3. Once at Donsak Pier you will then have to collect your luggage and board the ferry to Koh Samui. The ferry will take another 1 hour and 30 mins. However, if passengers booked a speedboat from Donsak Pier to Koh Samui the speedboat will take approximately 1 hour. Passengers can enjoy the sun and the breeze in their upper deck or just sit in one of their air conditioned passenger cabins for ferries.
4. After 1 hour and 30 minutes by ferry or 1 hour by speedboat you will then arrive in Nathon Pier, Koh Samui. From there if you have a hotel transfer you just have to walk to the minivan area to catch your minivan. It’s more simple that you think!
